At the beginning of the story, our hero, Douglas Young, manages to escape a disaster on Earth's first colony in space. When Douglas thinks everything is over, he witnesses an event that no human should ever experience in their own lifetime. From his escape pod, he witnesses the total destruction of his beloved home planet, Earth. Everything he has ever loved, his family, his friends... Everything disappears in an instant and with a dark feeling inside,

Douglas Young realizes that he is now... The last human. After this dramatic introduction, you get to follow his adventures in a universe with imaginative life forms of all kinds. Dangers lurk around every corner and he is completely alone in a hostile galaxy that will do anything to deprive him of his life. He ends up in the clutches of greedy slave drivers and is taken to a gigantic slave market. There, against all odds, he manages to escape and at the same time saves a warrior prince from a life of slavery.

The prince's name is Orloo Sann Loarl R'Boss and together they are thrown into a world where an ancient evil, nameless and unparalleled in the universe, has just awakened from its eternal slumber. It destroys everything in its path and it is up to our two heroes to find out where it comes from so they can save the galaxy once and for all from total destruction.
